I don't know about you, whilst I enjoy winter for the obvious reasons (bundling up in multiple layers and not needing to shred them half way around a dog walk, especially. All the coffee flavours. All of the cute knitwear. My birthday. Christmas...) it can leave me a little confused.
Like why am I not hibernating right now, are you sure humans don't need to burrow away for the winter? Positive?
It's been strange week, a little off and on.
There have been many positives, for instance; Mulberry has taken very well to her outdoor explorations. The negative; I'm not. I can't be the only crazy cat mama who is fighting internally like, maybe she wants to be an indoor cat, you know? She's still so small. But then she scales the shed and looks so smug way up high and it's like oh yeah, she'll be fine.
We're also getting a bath put back in (picture all of the sassy lady emojis and the firework ones too,) the bathroom (funnily enough.) I'm just picturing all of the sweet, sweet Lush hauls that will take place. All of the bath melts! All of them will be sampled to make up for lost time of not having a bath in the house at all, for sure...
Also enjoyable about winter is the concoctions made in the kitchen, preferably all slow cooked for hours. Preferably so comforting it's like a hug for dinner, know what I mean? We've been enjoying (veggie) chilli like it's going out of style and various quinoa based stews too.
And then other things too. The first lot of Christmas presents arriving, wrapping sessions to ensure no one sneaks a peak at their own present, frantic scurrying to find new hiding places. Not only from the humans now, Mulberry too. I swear to god we won't be able to have the presents under the tree this year, she'll open them.
But before Christmas, a birthday. 25. Like, can I freak out yet? Is too soon for a quarter life crisis? I don't particularly have anything on a wishlist (is this what happens with age?) asides from this speaker. Look how amazing it looks!
I think you can appreciate what I mean about winter now, it's even making my writing confused and disjointed.
What's your week been like?
