Well, that year went quickly...
Seriously though, is it just because I'm getting older or is the earth spinning faster? A topic for another day, perhaps. But first, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know it's early, but seeing as this post is coming at you today in the early afternoon, a little preliminary celebration is necessary, although of course New Zealand and Australia are already in 2016. Gosh, that's a bit of a head spin, right?
I know I'm not the only blogger to have taken a few absences this year; I think blogging has changed so much from when I first started and it seems to have happened so quickly, does anyone else feel that way too?
Whilst it's incredible what some gents and ladies have carved out for themselves as a very weird and wonderful career that is pro-blogging, in normal blog-reading terms I had fallen out of love with all of it. It was at a time when there was a tonne of new releases and it felt like everyday I was reading the same thing over and over. In the end I stopped, took a beat for a long time, actually. Then I went out of my way to find new blogs to read, some old and some new, with varying readerships. It did me good, to fall back in love with blogging like yes, we so got this.
So one hope for 2016, for me, is to improve my blog, work continually at it and actually keep a regular schedule. It's been hard, as illness has actually been the main reason for most of my "mini" breaks, as I call them. I touched on it very briefly in various posts but I'd so love to get them all under control this year if possible. So, I guess I have my first two goals? Improve blog. Maintain illness malarkey. I'd also love to travel somewhere in 2016, I'd planned on Italy this year but it just didn't work out, so hopefully 2016 will see me satisfying my pasta dreams.
Who knows? I'll have a think about what I actually want to achieve this year, properly but it's been so busy over these past few weeks that I haven't had time to. Again, that time flying by.
2015 overall was a mixed bag, so I wasn't very well but we added Mulberry to our little family and it's been amazing. I swear she's more human than cat. I've re-branded my blog, twice, actually as I wasn't 100% sold on the first go round. I've worked harder on my photography and feel like I've taken some much better photos overall. Definitely something I want to get better at continually. I got a new car, named Pong, in case you were wondering. We had a new bath fitted, after three years or so without one I cannot wait for a nice soak in the tub. All these little and big things to make the not-so-nice things that more bearable.
But I've gone way off my (albeit very very rough,) plan here. I hope your new years eve goes off without a hitch - that you enjoy your evening whatever you're doing, with merriment and happiness but mostly I wish you all a Happy New Year.
