I love perfume, though it's not one of my favourites to jabber on about. Namely because er, it's hard to describe sometimes what stuff actually smells like? I have a few seasonally appropriate scents, that I love, adore but I have three that I see as mine. My signature scents. I'm being greedy, I know...
Marc Jacobs Honey (asides from having the cutest bottle) shares similarities with my all time favourite Hugo Boss Orange. Both have a vanilla, wood base notes although naturally MJ Honey has yeah, honey as a base note too. Both have orange blossom at their middle notes, although Hugo Boss also has white flowers. Peach nectar, honeysuckle and apricot belong to MJ. Although Hugo Boss' top note is sweet apples, Honey has pear and juicy mandarin. Similar, but not the same. Both are equal parts woody/vanilla/honey/orangey goodness though and last incredibly well throughout the day.
My strangest pick has to be Ghost Eclipse. I say strange for one reason; musk. It's not everyone's cup of tea and I'd thought it wasn't mine, but with a fellow base note of amber and middle notes of lotus, freesia, rose and blonde woods and top notes of peach, mandarin and lemon, bergamot, blackcurrant buds and marigold... You get the most perfect summer evening scent, quite warming and delightfully fruity and floral. The amber and musk adds the perfect base to stop it from becoming too sickly. So musk, I've changed my mind about you.
Despite these being some of my favourite scents to wear during warmer weather, I love them enough to wear them year round even if it means going through bottles quicker than usual!
