I think I'm right in saying I'm a little late to the game on this Maybelline The Nudes palette - as it goes with these sorts of products that take an absolute age to hit the UK shores...
You could say a neutral palette is my biggest weakness; but I actually only use two religiously for the longest time now, the NARSissist palette and the MUA Matte Palette. They have everything I need for all the neutral looks I could hope for but as soon as I saw this little shimmering nugget, I don't know what happened. It just leapt into the basket.
It's a compact little palette which is amazing, although they could have done away with the sponge applicator and made it smaller still, but that's here nor there. It's sturdy enough to 'throw' in your handbag/luggage but small enough to warrant that kind of transportation too.
There's a solid mix of shimmers and matte shades the latter of which apply well and aren't chalky like some can be. They last well throughout the day, with primer and don't crease which is always a plus.
I think this palette is going to be amazing for a beginner, on the reverse it shows which (quads, trios, duos) work best with each other so there really can be no error but as these are neutrals anyway you can't go wrong with whatever combination you choose - but it's great to see the tutorial like instructions regardless.
For me it's going to be an amazing little travel companion thanks to the size of the palette, the mix of the shadows and their lasting power. However much I love my NARSissist palette, I'm loathe to travel with it for fear of breakage or theft of luggage. This little gem can take it's place, if only for a short while.
The palette is £9.99 at Boots but there are usually deals on (3 for 2, etc) so it's definitely worth a swatch or three when you next pop in.
