Today has already been a "get everything in order" day. We finally ordered our sofa last night (which I ramble about here,) and we went for the dark grey/light wooden legs combination as we felt it would go with what we have now and more things in the future too. Also a revelation; IKEA I LOVE YOU MORE THAN EVER.
Because I had no idea most of the sofas come flat-packed. Well, as flat as a sofa can. Which meant it will be a hell of a lot easier to get it up the stairs, because assembled there would of been no way of getting it up the stairs let alone into our odd (but lovely,) living/dressing/studio room. So yeah, IKEA. I love you.
We also picked up another HELMER, because I'm eschewing the MALM dressing table (even if I do love the little set up above,) because it just takes up too much room and also promotes this kind of wasteful buying of make up that I don't want to do any more; the more storage you have the more you seem to fill it, so I've already emptied it and filled my original HELMER with everything and the second will be office/stationary based. I'd love to get one of those embossed label makers to better organise myself further, but you know that can wait for another time.
I will still keep my eames style chair besides the drawers though, with a faux (also bought last night,) sheepskin thrown over it. Oh so Pinterest.
The sofa arrives next weekend so we (the Mr, actually,) has a lot of stuff to shift out of the way in preparation and also the room is being painted for a little freshen up so basically all of the moving/painting/furniture building will happen over the next two weeks or so...
I get woken up about half five in the morning by Mulberry, she likes routine as much as I do I think. She wakes up and tries to wake up the Mr first, then realises there is no hope then wakes me up - I get a coffee and she has breakfast. Then we just sit and chill, usually she's on the windowsill, like above. Watching birds and other cats, dogs. Cars. But today she was staring so intently and well, it was adorable. A little kitten watching the sun rise over Dartmoor in the distance, just perfectly nestled between the houses. I wonder what was going through her mind?
