Life got real hectic for a minute there.
I thought I'd touch base and share some snippets from our room that we've been gradually updating over the last few weeks. There's still a lot to do (namely fiddly bits like putting up shelves, which in retrospect we should have done when the room was clear...) but the main furniture is now set up.
Firstly, the STOCKSUND arrived and oh man it's glorious! We went for the light wooden legs and Nolhaga Dark Grey cover in the end. The fact it came flat-packed was a total life saver because otherwise we'd never get such a long sofa up the stairs.
It's so comfortable, literally the most ideal movie watching sofa ever but perfect for my back too. Oh, and the covers can come off easily and be washed is also a bonus - the extra covers for the arms are handy too, especially as Mulberry still likes to have a stretch (and therefore scratch) on the sides, although we've nearly got her to stop doing it...
So yeah, if you've been uhhming and ahhing over it, it's definitely worth a gander.
One thing I really need to finish is re-potting my succulents and cacti. I picked up this wood effect pot from B&Q and I love it! It adds some warmth whilst still being weighty enough to stay put should any cats come and try and push it over.
I've been adding more and more greenery to this space, I think when you have white walls little touches of plant life here and there really brighten whilst adding some warmth too. Naturally, I stick to easy to manage plants because I don't have the best track record for house plants.
Can we just appreciate these H&M cushion covers a second? Thank you, H&M for having the absolute best covers every. Damn. Season. And for an amazing price. Please never stop with the cushion covers!
But yeah, we've got a mix of anthracite grey, pattern, velvet and a pretty cool fern print one that I adore. The brilliance of having a grey/neutral sofa is that the accessory options are endless...
For beauty/skincare/stationary storage I have three of the HELMER cabinets, two in white and one in grey. One is about six years old though and looks more cream so I'm probably going to spray paint it a different colour, potentially navy blue. I'm considering updating all of the handles too and spray painting them gold but we'll see.
And you know. There's Mulberry. She's just been neutered, hence the little shaven patch - but she's healed so quickly so she's been bouncing around like a lunatic as usual now. I'm pretty pleased that she likes her little cat tree/scratching post (a Lidl bargain, hah!) in a snazzy leopard print, even if it has taken her about a month to show any interest.
